Tulips - Springtime is Coming

I am entering my first online challenge, the CMC Copic Challenge, Bright Fun Colors, Anything Goes. I had already made this card when I saw the picture for the challenge and thought why not? Check out all the amazing entries.

I used an free online digi, pink paper and ribbon by Bazzill, patterned paper by Nana's Kids. And of course my Sakura Gelly Roll pen! You must have sparkle!

Paint Your Life With JOY

This card was sent to my longtime friend, Shirley. She gave me this stamp set Paint Your Life With Joy by Maybelle RO for my birthday and I just had to play with it, I also was anxious to use my new Quick Cuts Nesting Lace Ovals that my husband gave me for my birthday. Colored under the new Ott light my son got me for my craft table! Pretty good birthday if you ask me and those were only a couple of the wonderful gifts I got.

Other supplies: patterned papers by Nana's Kids, white netting from Archiver's. Copic's: -do you believe my husband came in my room and counted my Copic's and figured out what I have spent on them, oh my, I was even shocked. He tried to do that with my stamps once and I chased him out! You just have to love engineer's and how their minds work, I am married to one, both of my son's and daughter-in-law are engineer's. I am outnumbered, as a nurse my mind works different than theirs, different perspectives, balances things out and makes life fun. Anyways Copics: G24,G82,YG83,Y15,RV02,RV11,BV02,B000,B02,YR24,E31-33-35.

CAS Card - Sponging a Layer

I saw a tutorial on Gina K on this technique for a fast one layer card - Sponging a Layer. It was quick and easy. I used Ancient Page Sage ink for the sponged background. Flower stamp from Hero Arts, Leaves from Magenta, and saying from Great Impressions all stamped with Memento ink. Copic markers to color the flowers and leaves: Y35, YR04, YR09, and G24. Ribbon is by Dashes Dots and Checks (Michaels). Such a fast, CAS card, give it a try, it was a lot of fun! Mailed this one to my mom for no reason, just a surprise card!

Ducks

We were sitting on the deck yesterday and our favorite ducks came by so we went out on the dock and they hung out with us for about 20 minutes. When we moved here there was one white duck on the lake, and none of the other ducks had anything to do with him. This past fall another white duck appeared and now these 3 ducks are always together. Aren't they beautiful? If any other ducks come close the mallard chases them away. Fun to watch. Thanks for stopping by.

Archiver's Class Cards

I took at class at Archiver's with my good friend, Shirley, and we made some amazing cards. I put them in the order of my favorites. Did not care much for the last one. What I liked was that we learned a lot of techniques that were new to us. When you've been stamping over 20 years new techniques are wonderful. We did muti-colored embossing, added glitter on top of embossing, used distress stain on a combined clear and holographic embossed background, ribbon, and flowers, gathered ribbon on a card (can you believe I did not know how to do this, so simple - love it!). Lot's of new things to add to my stamping! I also played with cropping my cards so you should be able to see details of my cards much better now, I'm amazed at how much the glitter shows up on these cards in the pictures. Let me know if you can see the difference compared to my previous posts, I did redo the picture on my last post. Enjoy the w/e and keep warm.

I sent this card to my chemo patient this week. I just became a chemo card angel and the requirement is to send at least one card a week. My good friend Shirley has been doing this for over 5 years. My goal this year was to do something positive with my cards and this sounded like a good idea. Kitty in a Cup

I'll be sending this card to my Daughter-in Law. I hope she likes it. I colored it in her favorite colors and to look like Ellie, her adorable kitten. She also looks like Ellie's big brother Scooter. They are both very entertaining and fun when we visit. I used my pink Copics: RV00, 02, 06. and R20, E31, and E33. That's it. The set is retired from The Angel Company but maybe it will be one of the sets available on Red Rubber Designs when it opens online in February. Wishing you a great week.

My Husband's Birthday Card

Six Fold Card

I wanted to post a Hello for the New Year and wish everyone a happy, healthy, and blessed New Year. This card is a new technique I tried today, a six fold card. It was fun to make. Instead of card stock I used a heavy two sided patterned paper and the pieces I cut off were usable for the inside patterned pieces. The flower stamp is by Hero Arts, Just Saying Hello by TPC Studios, paper is Zen Garden by g c d Studio. Mom's Birthday Card

My mom is 82 today. She is one of my favorite stamping buddies and makes beautiful cards. This is the card I made for her birthday using one of my favorite Amuse sets - kindred spirits. Mom and I celebrated with shopping and lunch Monday and again last night with mom and dad coming over for dinner. Happy Birthday Mom!!!!

I took a class today at For Keeps Sake a great little stamping/scrap-booking store in south county. It was part of my good friend, Shirley's birthday present to choose a class, she also got to pick out a stamp, she choose the trees. It was a great class, Mary was a wonderful instructor, we got a lot of little tips we did not know and good color combinations with our Copics. It was nice to have a girls day.

TAC(1) Design Team

This is the first posting of the TAC design team. I chose Blossoms and Blessings for my first post and colored it with Copic Markers: Y13, Y17, YR01, YR07, YG06, YG63, E33, and E35. I scored a piece of blue card stock as my background and simply mounted that to white card stock, these flowers do not need much to showcase them.

Breast Cancer Awareness Hop

What a great cause to bring extra awareness to. I went with a design that I felt would cheer up a special person going through breast cancer or cancer or any type. First Day of Autumn Blog Hop

I could not resist playing along with this blog hop when I saw it this morning. I played with a new idea I saw where you lay down a gray copic where you want your shading and then use one color copic. Not sure yet if I like it, I used a C3 instead of C5 today and it was better. Other Copics I used were: E02, E30, E70, E33, Y13 Y17, YG03, YG62 and NO. I used Diamond Glaze on the flower centers. Enjoy the blog hop.

Note Pad Holder

My mom (and great stamping buddy) told me I was past due to post so here we are with two posts. Isn't this Note Pad Holder adorable? Deb Miller gave us the pattern at The Angel Company convention this past June. Shirley had one made when we did a stamp marathon last month and I made this one at her house. I made one with my mom, my niece Amanda, and good friend Pat a couple weeks ago when we got together to stamp. I have supplies together to make it again with some friends tomorrow! See the next post for another version. Shirley good thing you posted today - my mom let me know you were behind too! Pat, I'm sorry your link disappeared from my list, good thing my mom pointed it out, she really likes your blog! My blog links have been playing hide and seek, I'm not sure why. Take care all.

Anyone that knows me knows I love Teddy Bears and have quite a collection, not just stuffed and statues but stamps as well. When I saw that some of the former angels were doing a Blog Hop for Teddy Bear Day I had to play along even though we just got back in town this afternoon. This was one of the adorable new sets from The Angel Company that I was lucky to get before they closed. I colored her with Copics and did some layering! Final Farewell

As most of you have heard The Angel Company has gone out of business due to the tough economic times. This Blog Hop is a tribute to The Angel Company. I had a wonderful 8 years and many treasured memories with the Smiths, fellow angels, and my customers. I will continue to stamp with my customers, they are welcome in my studio anytime, and hope to keep in touch with many my of my fellow angels. Wood Grain Background

                                     This wood grain back ground was fun to create. Start with
                                     a mustard colored card stock. Score with your Scor-Pal
                                    or Scor-Buddy. Rub the card stock with a brow dye ink
                                    pad. Then rub with a white brillance ink pad. Finish as
                                    desired.

Spotlight Technique

                                             I used my Copic Markers on this card and chose
                                             to do the Spotlight technique where you stamp the
                                             image twice, color just a small portion, punch it with
                                             a circle punch, punch a sightly larger circle in black,
                                             assemble and you have spotlighted your image!
