The House That Stamps Built: Anything Goes

Everyone's favorite challenge week at The House: Anything Goes

I have not been very creative lately with nonstop the news on Coronavirus so I
made numerous variations of the above card and sent them off to people
that are confined to their homes temporarily to let them know they are in
my thoughts.  It is such a quick and easy card.  1" patterned paper squares, I
used double sided paper so I would not have to coordinate, start with the
top left corner and then they are easy to line up visually. After gluing
down the squares emboss with embossing folder of your choice,
one the two above I used Cuttlebugs Mosaic. Die cuts: Quick Cuts Nesting
ovals  and unknown rectangular stitched. Saying of your choice,
I used Repeat Impression's:  8611-E, Thinking and

Please be safe and take care of yourself.

I hope you will share your creations in our weekly challenge, you might just

The House That Stamps Built: Inspiration Palette

Inspiration photo time this week at The House That Stamps Built:

No photo description available.

My take on the photo and colors:

I did not start out planning to make a shaker card but the design I had
in my head just needed a tad more color and these darling sequins
were just the final touch to pull in all the colors.

The House That Stamps Built: Tic Tac Toe

It's Tic Tac Toe week at The House That Stamps Built!
No photo description available.

The center square black and white & one color caught my eye,
so I  used that as my starting point.

Red and black pair so well together, don't you think?  I made a smooshed
background with a new smooshing technique, come back on  March 30
and I will share it in my Pick of the Week tutorial! I used the darling
Repeat Impressions  107-F, Monarch Butterfly and
6103-J, Thinking Vertical on top of a red die cut Die-Versions
"Summer Flowers Background" and added a bow.

Repeat Impressions: Anything Goes

Everyone's favorite week at The House That Stamps Built:
Anything Goes.

I just got a new stencil(thanks Shirley) and bought the new oval masking stencils
and could not wait to play with both. A little ink, ribbon, epoxy
dots and  layers and above is my card.  So quick and easy
and pairs beautifully with Repeat Impressions:

The House That Stamps Built: Inspiration Photo

Wendy has another beautiful photo for us this week at

Image may contain: tree, sky, outdoor and nature

My Cards:

I was inspired by the photo and colors.  I stamped the second card
on regular cardstock for placement before stamping on my watercolor
paper and decided to ink both up with Distress Oxides.  I think I like the
second one better, the inks blended better on the smooth surface. I
used various blues, pinks and lavenders.

Repeat Impression stamps:  Lg Pine Tree, Large Pine Forest,
Gulls in flight, and Happy Birthday were embossed on
the card.

with shimmer spray (it shows up much better in real life.)
Repeat Impressions image and sentiment ( Lupine and Happy moments)
were stamped in Memento Rose Bud and then VersaMark and then
clear embossed.  Die cuts from StampIn Up, Tim Holtz embossing folder,

The House That Stamps Built: Presentation of the Week

It is my week for Pick of the Week at The House That Stamps Built.
I am going to explain how to do double embossing for a fun textured look.

You will need two embossing folders, one with a mild pattern and one
with a bolder pattern.  An A2 card base, a 4 " by 5 1/4 " layer for embossing.
Other layers and stamps as desired.

Emboss milder pattern, I used Sizziz Tim Holtz wood grain.

Emboss bolder pattern, I used The Paper Studio,.

Enlarged so you can see the texture you get with two
embossing folders.

I then did some ink distressing, and used a Tim Holtz distresser on the edges.
I used Repeat Impression stamps: Cape Hatteras Light, Birthday Vertical,
Whelk Shell, and Random Dots.

Be sure to check out The House That Stamps Built blog
for a discount on the stamps that I used.

I stamped part of Bass Harbor Light (lg) as I had a small area to work in,
pulled out my water colors and had fun. I cut my designer papers to match
the sketch, did some layering, stamped  Because and bordered it
with anchors I punched out of patterned paper glued to
cardstock for dimension.

Close up of watercoloring:

Twofer

Had some free time so I was motivated by Darnell's Twofer Heart challenge,
I started with a new set from Stampin Up  Heartfelt and used the
lacey heart.  The first card is CAS, bear and sentiment from Lawn Fawn.
The second card was the fun messy one, I embossed the
hearts randomly in clear, embossed one in silver.  Then used Distress
Oxides and smoosed until I liked my background.  Happy
Anniversary is from Repeat Impressions, and heart die is
Momenta.

The House That Stamps Built: Designer Choice Challenge

Welcome to the first challenge of the year for The House That Stamps
Built!  It is a DCC-Designer Choice Challenge hosted by Shirley-
something that reminds you of your childhood.

I had quite a collection of stuffed animals and that Wendy's darling
teddy bears were my first thought.  Although I used pink and
added a bow I was not a frilly little girl. I liked playing
dolls with the girls but I also played with the boys
since my brother is just a year older than me.

Wishing you much joy in 2020!

Supplies:
Repeat Impression Stamps:
Tim Holtz lace stencil
