Happy Fathers Day

I had made several alcohol ink backgrounds several weeks ago and
thought these two would make good eclipse cards for my husband
and my dad for Fathers Day.  I did the Dad on my Scan N Cut.
Bow is by Taylored Expressions.

Happy Fathers Day to all the men out there and the spouses/
significant others of those visiting my blog.

The House That Stamps Built-Tic-Tac-Toe

No photo description available.

Tic-Tac-Toe week at the House:

I went right across the center with Blue & Green/Frame/Embossing.
I've had this Distress oxide panel off to the side of my crafting table
and was itching to use it so when I saw blue and green I
grabbed it as my starting point.

I hope you join in with our challenge weekly, you might just be the
lucky winner of the monthly drawing for the $25 Repeat Impression's gift

The House That Stamps Built: Pick of the Week

Hi all, its my week for the POTW-Pick of the Week and I am going to
share an old technique that is quick and easy to make embellishments
to jazz up the simplest of card: Foil embossing.

You will need either heavy duty aluminum foil or you can glue two
sheets of regular foil together and then glue to a piece
of white card stock-liquid glue of your choice is best.
Emboss with embossing folder of your choice.
Then die cut embellishments of your choice.

I then made two simple black and white cards using Repeat Impression
and Thinking of You.   I then added my embellishments.

The House That Stamps Built: Designer Choice Challenge

This is Patti's debut week returning to the Repeat Impressions
design team, and her week to pick the challenge theme,
she chose: Things with Wings:

I was excited to see this technique of inking up a strip of the card
has returned to popularity.  I used Distress Oxides: broken china,
worn lipstick and shaded lilac and then spritzed with a fine
mist of water.  I then stamped with Repeat Impressions:
I like to stamp my images with Versa Fine Clair black ink
and then emboss with clear embossing powder.
I think this technique makes a simple yet beautiful card.

I wanted an inspiration card for someone very dear to me and had the

following stamps picked out: You Amaze Me, and Heart Ribbon
from the Cancer and Caregiver section.  Hopefully you never
have a need for these stamps but if you do the selection is
amazing.  I love the cancer ribbon with the heart center.

The House That Stamps Built: Anything Goes

Fourth week of the month at The House That Stamps Built, so anything goes.
I thought I would go with Christmas again.

I did an ink smooshing technique and had extra  ink so made two similar
cards.  On the first I embossed Star Cluster in VersaMark ink, and used
Wow Cha Cha Cha Embossing glitter, and on the other Stampendous
Pearlluster embossing powder. I used Shepherd Boy using my
mirror image stamp to stamp the second lamb. Such a fun card to make.

The House That Stamps Built-Inspiration Photo

I thought this was such a fresh and springy photo for our
inspiration this week at The House That Stamps Built.

Image may contain: food

I went with the cheery spring colors on my card:

I colored up: 9203-P, Daisies & Butterfly with Copic markers to go
with the colors,  I restamped the bottom right daisy two times, coloring
only the top one to put on the bottom right of my frame.  The
frame is a die cut by Taylored Expressions cut out 3 times and
glued together for dimension. I stamped 8622-D, Because inking
up only the Just because -full sentiment is Just because I care.

The House That Stamps Built: Tic-Tac-Toe

Tic-Tac-Toe time this week at The House.

No photo description available.

All cards this week will have Shimmer or Sparkle what fun!
I went with the center across adding Pink & Yellow and Stitching
to my Shimmer and Sparkle:

I started by creating a Distress Oxide background with
squeezed lemonade and picked raspberry, spritzed it
with some water and then Frost Shimmer. I then embossed
6115-M, Look to this day... (such a beautiful sentiment) and
one 5125-C, Dragonfly Sil. (sm), some glittery and clear
enamel dots and I was happy!

The House That Stamps Built-Designer Choice Challenge

This week is Shirley is hosting our DCC at The House and she
choose one layer cards. I always enjoy seeing what people
do with this.

I stamped up a variety of flowers  that can be bought separately
or as part of a plate at Repeat Impressions.  I then stenciled
some leaves, scored diagonally both directions every
1/2 " and added some enamel drops.  I did not add
a sentiment as this will go in my stash as it can
be used for many occasions.  Below shows the scoring:

The House That Stamps Built: Presentation of the Week

It is my  turn for POTW at The House That Stamps Built.
I am sharing a new organization  system I
put together in minimal time that makes my card making much
easier and quicker.   I had bits and pieces cut out for card making all over
the place  but not many full size  cards pieces so decide a tote with
precut white card pieces would be handy.  This is what
 I came up with:

I have sections for:
-Scraps
-3 34" by 5" card layers
-4 by 5 1/4 " card layers
-  Scored cards
-Embossed card fronts
-Glossy 4 by 5 1/4 " for layers
-Card fronts (colored die cuts I had)-one exception to the whites
- Card bases: A2 Scored,  horizontal and vertical cut
-Card layers, horizontal and vertical cut unscored- 4 1/4 " 11" and 5 1/2" by 8 1/2"-this is my favorite.

I used a container I had at home,  my dividers are 5 1/2" by 6",  I made the
tabs with my envelope board, they could also be hand cut.

To give you an idea on the scrap section, I save sizes from little strips (for
greetings) to almost card front sizes:

This picture shows the entire basket:

I picked 4  cards from the past year to share with you that used my favorite stamps:

6104-J, Birthday Vertical My absolute most used
stamp, I keep it on a block all the time, it is cut in half on
this card. Paired with 2411-K, Pelican's Piling,
3412-C, Gulls in Flight, in the first card.

2008-K, Shepherd Boy -He makes a beautiful card.

4313-K, Sunflower and 8614-D, Find beauty Everyone likes
sunflowers they just brighten a day, and this saying is fabulous.

The House That Stamps Built: Anything Goes

That's right, everyone's favorite this week at The House: Anything Goes

I've yet to start on my stash of Christmas cards for this year so I
thought Anything Goes this month was the perfect time to kick
off the Christmas card season.  I see my blog friends making cards
every week for Christmas and am so impressed of how ahead of
the game they are.
I stamped up 2002-J, Holiday Lamp Post, used several blue
Distress Oxide inks on my background, spritzed with water
and a shimmer spray, use a gel pen for snow, glitter glue
on the greenery and lamp top.  Die cut by Quick Kutz.

the colors of the inspiration photo.  I then embossed the
10201-W, Flower Power Background in Stampendous PearLustre white
embossing powder-see close up below.  I added a greeting:

I went diagonally from the bottom left to the top right,  choosing soft pastels,
polka dots and a stitched die version circle die. I also used a fun fold to
jazz up the card.

Happy Anniversary

I made this card today for my brother and sister-in-law's anniversary.  I've been playing
with the new pearlized alcohol inks and this background did not need
much.  I stamped Stamping Sensations Lillies and an Anniversary
sentiment from Verve.  It is difficult to see the pearlized effect in
the picture but it is amazing in real life.
