HOC Blog Hop & Prizes

Welcome to our bi-annual House of Cards blog hop with prizes! This is such a fun event, be sure to go to all of the design team blogs and leave a comment for a chance to win prizes from our wonderful sponsors. Prizes are hidden on random blogs and you get an extra chance to win if you participate in the challenge.

I chose a digital set from one our sponsor DeeDee Digi's to design with and made two cards with this fun set called Ornamental (Contempo).  I used the Inspiration Photo to start:

Challenges:

This was my first card made with this wonderful digital set, it was pre-colored and also came in black and white but these colors seemed to fit the challenge so I went with them.  I used my Versa Mark pen on the entire left ornament and parts of the other two and them embossed with holographic embossing powder and added a few gems, a bow and I was done! Click on the image below to see the sparkle.

Challenges:

I also wanted to see these ornaments on vellum, this vellum came with gold highlights already on them so I really did not need any embellishing.  Below I have the vellum lifted up so you can see the cute digital paper that also came with this set!

Thanks for visiting and here is the hop order so you don't miss any of the lovely designs and your chance to win prizes from our lovely sponsors! Or you can go to House of Cards main page to see the prize packages, full hop order and design team call information!

  17. Great use of the digis--you're right, they were already colored perfectly for the challenge. Adding the holographic embossing powder takes it right over the edge into amazing!

  22. Your precolored baubles are perfect for the challenge but what I like most is you took them to the next level adding some wonderful sparkle!! Putting the baubles on vellum is a great idea!! And vellum with gold already on it!! It just goes to show you don't need to do EVERYTHING by hand to make it an excellent card!!
