House of Cards January Challenge

Can you believe it is January 1 already?  Time is really flying by.  I want to wish all of you a very Happy and blessed New Year. 
 
It's time for another challenge at  and another term at House of Cards, such a talented and fun design team!
 
My card started with the fun, bright colors above using Distress  Oxide Inks, but when I added a layer of Gesso, glitter, and another layer of Gesso over my distressed background it softened up. I still like the end result.  It was fun going with the colors, and mixed media.

    Such a lovely background, and I like the gleam of the different colors that show in the yellow shade. Brilliant to add the gesso, I've never tried that. I've seen Jill Foster soften some of her colors using it, but I always forget about it! The black filigree of the butterfly design really stands out - and it's a perfect card to start 2018.
