Masculine Cards

I am always in need of masculine cards especially for birthdays. I spotted a
great sale at Hobby Lobby and decided to use some of my purchases
instead of putting them in my waiting to use box.  I started by
selecting some  masculine color backgrounds from my stash:

I then embossed them with two of my new dies and used
my Happy Birthday die, all three purchased for under $4.00. I
used as many snippets as I could.

From my die cut holder:

Pulled this die out for variety:

It is nice to have a little masculine stash.  Do you have a favorite? I like
the one where I die cut the background and the bottom two.

A few fun challenges:

  1. What a nice collection of masculine cards. I like the 5th one the best, rainbow colors. I have 2 male buddies so I keep my masculine ones in a separate box. Great job.

  6. Donna, I love that starry birthday card you shared with us at The Male Room for our "galaxy and/or stars" January theme! Using the mottled paper for the die cuts really adds so much more than had you used solid colors! Thank you for sharing your card with us for our first challenge of 2023!!! -Donna

  7. You go girl! Look at all the cards you've made with those great papers! I admire you for using what you bought instead of stashing it! Great job on them all!

  9. Yes, my favourites are #4 and #6 as the stars are a nice touch. I don't have a stash of masculine cards but this is a great idea! I am taking a short blog break but wanted to pop in to say hello.

  10. This is a great post, Donna, and you show us that we don't need to overcomplicate making those masculine designs. These designs are also very age neutral, which is a plus. Very inspiring post.

  11. ~I like the way that Happy Birthday die looked so different depending on which background it was on - great way to see how things can change just by colour - love your entry for our Galaxy theme at The Male Room Challenge.

  12. Wow! I like the way you create texture using ink and then add more with an embossing folder. What a way to transform your stash of backgrounds into masculine cards you can grab when you need one! I struggle with masculine cards. Thank you for sharing and giving me inspiration. My favorites are 1, 3, and 5.

  15. Way to go using your NBUS so quickly, Donna, and what a great price! I don't know how you could pick a favorite! Each one is a brilliant use of your backgrounds and dies, especially for the guys in your life. (I need to do this with the backgrounds that are yelling at me from the side of the room!) Happy New Year Hugs, Darnell
