There is an awesome new shop on Etsy that you will want to check out at the above link. Many of you know Mynette Kitchen from her beautiful cards at her personal blog: on a stampage,   House of Cards Blog owner, CASE-ing Christmas Blog owner, and Great Impresssions DT coordinator. Mynn has released ten beautiful digital sets today! I am thrilled to be on her design team!  A little sneak peak of two cards I designed is below.  Different sets will be featured by the DT from August 16-20th so be sure to check back during that time,  I will have a link for the giveaway on the days I have card designs for the featured set. I hope you will be as excited as I am about her fabulous designs!

Fluttering by

I needed one more 5x7 card for August birthdays and I  had been wanting to make a recessed window card so I  checked out several of my favorite challenges and this is what I came up with and I was quite happy with the result.  I stamped amuse studio's sunny side of life on white cardstock and sponged distress inks to get a sunset look.  I dabbed Versamark ink on the image and lightly sprinkled holographic embossing powder on the image to get a night sky effect:

I die cut my circle out of Kaisercraft paper (thank you Diane!) and did my layer with Washi tape at the bottom to match my sponging.  To coordinate my butterfly dies (Memory box and amuse) I layered my Washi tape on cardstock and them cut them out).

Did you notice the little corner butterfly punch in the top corners?  I guess you noticed butterflies are one of my many favorites!  Thanks for stopping by!

A few fun challenges:

HOC August Challenge

AUGUST 2015
Word Cue Challenge

The August HOC Challenge was such fun!  I've not done much with metallisc so this card took some experimenting and playing.  I put aluminum foil on cardstock and used an  embossing folder by Darice.  I could not get my Distress Inks or chalk inks to stick so to the foil so I hunted around my craft room and found Dazzling Metallics Elegant Finish (gold paint) and put that on and it stayed! Then I was able to I dabb Distress and Chalk inks all over until I was happy with the look.  I die cut Happy Birthday from poppystamps.com,  stars from amuse, embossed the stars and put
paint on them as I did the foil.  I thought this made a rather elegant male birthday card.  I always enjoy new techniques.

I hope you will play along with this months challenge at House of Cards
and enjoy seeing the new designs and tutorials by the talented
design team each week at: House of Cards.
