Glittered Embellishments

Hello everyone! I have the  weekly Project of the Week at The House That Stamps Built, if you have a chance stop on by and leave me a comment there.

I thought I would start Monday morning off with bright and cheery Glittered Embellishments.

You will need: scrap card stock, punches, die cuts, glitter, a Xyron (you may substitute double sided adhesive or postal tape),  and Glossy Accents (optional).

Punch out as many shapes as desired with punches or die cuts, I would just double a few the first time:

The easiest way for the next step is to run them through a mini Xyron.  If you do not have a mini Xyron you can cover one side with, postal tape or double sided adhesive sheets (prior to cutting or punching your shapes out):

Remove adhesive and cover with at several colors of glitter, I use about 3 glitters per shape, including a silver or gold for shine:

Burnish well using your finger tool or a bone folder:

You can stop at this point and have beautiful embellishments:

Or take it one step further and add Glossy Accents for the look below:

I hope I have inspired you to try making some glittery embellishments for your cards or scrapbooks.  Thanks for visiting.

Butterflies on vellum

Just a fun card I made starting with a pretty sheet of vellum covered with butterflies.  I added a Happy Birthday die and layered it up 4 times for dimension and added some sequins for shine as you can see below.

It's a new week and a new challenge at The House That Stamps Built, the inspiration photo above.

I went with the colors and created a background using Brusho's on Bristo watercolor paper.  Then I embossed 4405-K, Dragonfly Deco and 9717-C, Happy Hello  on cardstock and this is my take on the sketch:

Z-fold Butterfly

No automatic alt text available.

Such a fun Tic-Tac-Toe challenge at The House That Stamps Built..  One of my favorite things to do is fun folds so I started with the Fun Fold box (bottom right) doing a new fold, a variation of the Z-fold, and went up diagonally and added in the stenciling  square for the background to my butterfly.

We enjoy when you join in the fun and we get to see your creations, check it out at The House That Stamps Built, each weekly entry puts you in the drawing for  the monthly $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions, use a Repeat Impressions, stamp and you get an extra chance.  Discount code on the right of my blog.

Fancy fold

This is a fun fold card I made for a friends birthday card.  I saw it this fold on Pintrest (it was from one of Frenchie's Team challenge folds) and thought it was so unique I just had to try it.  The coffee cup is from Stamplorations and the saying in from Endless Creations. I liked it so much I mailed it to my friend 2 weeks early.

Winner's Badge!

The Wizard of Oz

It is a new challenge at The House That Stamps Built this week.  It is a Designer Choice Challenge and Cheri picked: Your Favorite Movie.  My card is inspired by The Wizard of Oz.

I do not know the last time I made a one layer card, it was lots of fun.  The clouds were done with a stencil and a combination of Oxide and plain Distress inks and lightly misted after.  I paper pieced and fussy cut : 9116-N, Hot Air Balloon Cluster, and stamped just the top of 2713-O, Rocky Shore Vista.

Join in the fun challenge and you have a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impression for each entry, each week of the month, double chance for each entry using a Repeat Impressions stamp. See my discount code on the top right of my blog.

Someone Special

Time for another Challenge at the House of Cards, this month is Floral Images and/or the fabulous color scheme below:

 August, 2017
Floral Images and/or Colors

Flowers are one of my favorites to design with and purple is my favorite color so this was a fun and easy photo challenge for me.  I have a fairly new Taylored Expressions striped Background so I used that to pull in the gray, and used Altenew's Chrismas Rose stamp & die collection for the rest of my stamping.

Now it is your turn to create with flowers and/or the colors.  To find out  the challenge rules and be inspired by our amazing design team go to The House of Cards.
