You Paint My Heart Happy

I send a lot of cards out but do not send many just because cards
to my husband so when I say this MFT  sketch I thought I
would make him a card. I started with an oval stencil and
a rainbow of Distress Oxide inks, splattered them with
white paint.  I colored up a Builder Bear by My Favorite
Things and stamped one of the sentiments and die cut it.
I am sure he will be happy to receive this.

Wishing you all a happy day.

The House That Stamps Built: Anything Goes

Continuing with the January theme of Anything Goes at The House That Stamps Built:

I wanted to make a fun fold card this week.  I have been trying to build my
stash of masculine cards especially birthday cards, so I dug through my papers
and have been using up scraps from many years ago.  I paper pieced
Repeat Impressions: Hot Air Balloon Cluster and added  Happy Birthday.

The House That Stamps Built: Anything Goes

Continuing with the January theme of Anything Goes at The House That

This is the first card I made after creating numerous backgrounds with the Gelli
Plate I bought over the holidays.  It was so much fun creating backgrounds. I hesitated
to buy one as I did not like the lines a brayer leaves.  I decided to try Distress
Oxide Inks and they leave such a smooth canvas like look with no lines! I left this
one as is but have gone on to stencil, splatter etc on some of the other backgrounds
I made one my first time playing.

The House That Stamps Built-POTW

My week for the POTW - Project of the Week at The House That Stamps Built. I
am going to share how to make a Criss-Cross Card. Below is my card.

Let's get started. You will need a 12 x 12 piece of card stock, coordinating
patterned papers, some solid color card stock and stamps of your choice. I
used Repeat Impressions: Cape Hatteras Light and Hope your birthday.

Trim your 12 x 12 sheet of card stock to 5", and scor at 4" and 8". Then
trim from top of scor line to bottom right and left corners as below.

 Fold as below:

Take two 4" x 5" pieces of patterned paper and trim diagonally. Trim a small
amount off the bottom straight edge to fit the triangle sections of the card,
inside and out.

Cut center of card 3 7/8" x 4 7/8 ", may cut a white or ivory center, slightly
smaller, stamp with sentiment and add a tab or ribbon at the top.

Add image and any finishing touches:

This adds another masculine card to my stash, one of my January goals.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello

Hello!  Hope you  have a wonderful weekend!

 Laying flat.

I made this card for a few of my favorite challenges and had a lot of
fun making it.  As you know I like butterflies and it was fun to make a
gap card, it's been awhile since I made one. I had a snippet of this
patterned paper on my craft table, the gold and green behind
the hello was also a snippet.

The House That Stamps Built: Anything Goes

It's another Anything Goes week at The House That Stamps Built.

  My card:

Unfortunately we all need sympathy cards far too often. I wanted this
one to be bright and cheery.  I started with a die cut panel and brushed
on die inks, I added a white layer for extra dimension.  I used Repeat
Impressions Deepest Sympathy and then a few die cut butterflies.

The House That Stamps Built: Anything Goes

It's a fun month at The House That Stamps Built.  Wendy is shaking it
up a bit and making the entire month an Anything Goes!  One of my January
goals is to build up my stash of masculine cards as I always struggle with this.

I have two similar cards to share with you this week:

I started with two pieces of water color paper, I sprayed them with
Distress Resist Spray.  Once they were dry I did layers of
Distress Oxide Spray -this is so fun and quick for a
background!

On the first card I used stamps (Genealogy and Random Dots)  to add interest to my
background and then added my layered Happy Birthday.

On the second card
I used a stencil to add interest after stamping the dragon flies
and then added a Happy Birthday to the gate fold card.

Gelli Plate Fun

I finally gave in and got a Gelli plate after seeing so many beautiful backgrounds. Yesterday
I played with some inexpensive card stock, and used Distress Oxide spray inks and
made lots of backgrounds.  They came out beautifully, more of a canvas look.  I got a nice
smooth  background and I did not have to use a brayer.

On this background I dropped a wet stencil in a couple  areas,
stenciled some blue inks, did some light splatters, cut some die cuts from
the same sheet of paper, splattered some water and sprinkled
embossing powder on the splatters and heat it. I die cut a layer, added
a blue layer and found a scrap of patterned paper that pulled the
colors together.

It was a lot of fun trying something new and different, you will be seeing
more cards in future posts with the backgrounds I made.
