Happy New Year

Happy New Year to all!

I have had this adorable digi from Gerda Steiner  Designs sitting on my crafting table for over a
week and finally sat down and made a card with it today.  After paper piecing and putting
my card together I mad a bow with my envelope board, I am amazed by how much you
can do with the envelope board, such fun! Lots of ideas for it on Pintrest.

Again Happy New Year, wishing you lots of crafting time.

Brusho Shaker Card/Brusho Floral Card

 A few Challenges:

My dear husband surprised me with Brusho powders for Christmas.  I was watching the porch for other packages and did not see any boxes that resembles Brusho's so was sure I was not getting them, then I got down to my last gift and did a big happy dance! I've been wanting these since I first saw them used on Mary H.'s blog last July or August but did not want to spend that much $ on them. This is my first card.  I was quite happy with the results!  It will be on of my February birthday cards for work,  I make the  cards and for the group to sign and have 5 for February so I am getting a jump on them while I have fun experimenting!

My second attempt below will be for a January work birthday, I embossed the large background stamp in white and then used the Brusho powders.

Merry Christmas

I wanted to wish all my followers a very peaceful and blessed Christmas and a happy New Year!

The two cards above were my main Christmas design this year made in various colors.  I used a new nativity die by Taylored Expressions, a snow die by Taylored Expressions, a Peace die from my stash which is currently hiding from me.  I made many other cards along the way, many which have been posted already.

The card below was made for a friend who like teddy bears as much as me with the digital Little Mug Bear by Gerda Steiner Designs.

The card below I made three of for the bosses at work and is very similar to a card I saw on Pintrest from Splitcoast Stampers so I can not take credit for the design but I fell in love with it.

Again Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year and thanks for all the inspiration this past year and your friendships and comments have meant so much to me!

Let it snow

Just a clean and simple one layer card I made to send my chemo buddy for next week.  Its been a long time since I made a one layer card.  The washi tape and snowflakes with the gems in the center helped jazz it up.  I plan on a couple more posts this week but just in case  I want to wish a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all my blog land friends!

Santa Peace

This darling image is the digi for Gerda Steiner's December  progressive challenge. What a perfect message for this time of year!   I colored Santa with my Copics and fussy cut him and put him with some cheery background paper that has been in my stash for many years.  I punched some snowflakes to match, added some gems for glitz and here it is.  Hope you are all enjoying your Christmas preparations! Thanks for taking the time to stop by.

Sled Friends

An extra day has been added to release week for this design, is this set not just darling? It was so much fun to create with, being black and white no coloring was needed so it made such a quick and cute Christmas card.  I just added a few sequins and it was done!  I made several for my Christmas card pile in no time.  You can purchase this beauty at MHK Designs along with any of Mynn's wonderful designs and still make your Christmas cards for this year or get digital sets for all year round!  If you leave a comment on Mynn's blog today you have a chance to win this set.  Today is the last day of the release.  Check out the other designers image for all the new set designs from this week!

Pocket Puppy

We have another baby boy due in the family soon so I used Sketch Saturday as my starting point to design my card to have my card ready.  The image is from former Meljen Designs, papers Marcella K.  I have a closeup below so you can see the denim pocket. After coloring I took a small piece of denim, put Copic blending fluid on it and dabbed on the pocked until I got the denim look I wanted to achieve.  I was quite happy with how it turned out!

Ornaments

My best friends and I, Shirley, got together months ago and made ornaments for this Christmas, we did the two designs above.  The top one was mine and the lower one was Shirley's.
The top image is a precolored digi from Sparkle and Sprinkle: Winter Wonderland, and the second image is from Stampin Up.  On the last picture I tried to capture the snow and glitter we used on the trees and the snow banks but the picture does not show it as well as I would have liked.

HOC Blog Hop & Prizes

Welcome to our bi-annual House of Cards blog hop with prizes! This is such a fun event, be sure to go to all of the design team blogs and leave a comment for a chance to win prizes from our wonderful sponsors. Prizes are hidden on random blogs and you get an extra chance to win if you participate in the challenge.

I chose a digital set from one our sponsor DeeDee Digi's to design with and made two cards with this fun set called Ornamental (Contempo).  I used the Inspiration Photo to start:

Challenges:

This was my first card made with this wonderful digital set, it was pre-colored and also came in black and white but these colors seemed to fit the challenge so I went with them.  I used my Versa Mark pen on the entire left ornament and parts of the other two and them embossed with holographic embossing powder and added a few gems, a bow and I was done! Click on the image below to see the sparkle.

Challenges:

I also wanted to see these ornaments on vellum, this vellum came with gold highlights already on them so I really did not need any embellishing.  Below I have the vellum lifted up so you can see the cute digital paper that also came with this set!

Thanks for visiting and here is the hop order so you don't miss any of the lovely designs and your chance to win prizes from our lovely sponsors! Or you can go to House of Cards main page to see the prize packages, full hop order and design team call information!
