AUGUST 2015
Word Cue Challenge
The August HOC Challenge was such fun! I've not done much with metallisc so this card took some experimenting and playing. I put aluminum foil on cardstock and used an embossing folder by Darice. I could not get my Distress Inks or chalk inks to stick so to the foil so I hunted around my craft room and found Dazzling Metallics Elegant Finish (gold paint) and put that on and it stayed! Then I was able to I dabb Distress and Chalk inks all over until I was happy with the look. I die cut Happy Birthday from poppystamps.com, stars from amuse, embossed the stars and put
paint on them as I did the foil. I thought this made a rather elegant male birthday card. I always enjoy new techniques.
I hope you will play along with this months challenge at House of Cards
and enjoy seeing the new designs and tutorials by the talented
design team each week at: House of Cards.

Wow, Donna! This looks amazing! I must admit I love anything shiny, shimmery, sparkly, glittery, or metallic - I am a tame crow! So I love your metallic card - what a great technique! And thank you for all the encouragement on my blog!

Fabulous card. The metallic background is really neat and all
it needed was the Happy Birthday and stars to top it off. Love it!

Wow! The texture on this card is off the chart! I love the shiny stars, and the embossing folder you used. Great card!
Oh big wow! What a fab bkground. I've embossed aluminum and airbrushed copics over it, but not tried what you described. You certainly got an impressive look. Will be trying this, but don't have the product you mentioned. I do have some of the Viva décor stuff, wonder if that would work. I'm puzzled by your reference to anything of mine in a magazine. Was it something to do with DeeDee's? I didn't see it! Thks for telling me - if it WAS me!!! I'll be so thrilled. TFS & have a great week.
I can't believe that's aluminum foil--amazing how your transformed it!

I love all the "metallic" details on your card. They all work so well together. Good job at persevering to find something that adhered to the foil.
