Project of the week: Easy Shaker Card
Welcome everyone. It is my turn for the Project of the Week here at the House That Stamps Built. I saw a video on Jennifer McGuires's blog awhile back on making shaker cards that is so easy that I now am hooked on shaker cards and wanted to share it with you. My tutorial is in my own words, and I did not refer back to Jennifer's blog so my instructions, number of layers, type of adhesives and my instruction may be quite different.
Gather supplies as indicated:
White A2 card, pattern paper of choice cut to 4" by 5 1/4 ":
Frame die, cut 6:
Sheet of acetate cut to fit your frame:
Glue 5 of the 6 frames together with a liquid glue, I
prefer a tacky glue which allows time to reposition and
dries fast:
Attach pattern paper to card front. Color image of your
choice, I used Repeat Impressions Sunflower 4313-K,
cut to fit your frame and glue to pattern paper:
Attach frame with Tacky glue or adhesive and fill with
sequins, do not overfill:
Use double sided tape to attach acetate to the 6th frame and
on top of the acetate:
Attach acetate layer:
View from the side:
I hope this will inspire you to try shaker cards. Thanks for stopping by.

I usually use foam tape to create the raised layer for sequins to be able to move, but this technique is a great alternative. Thanks for sharing. Your card turned out beautiful!
