Sketch Saturday DT Call

My name is Donna Thielker I live in the United States and have been stamping for 13 years.
I have been on one design team back in 2011, the Totally Awesome Chicks Design Team, with the Angel Company products.
I would like to join the Sketch Saturday design team as it has been one of my favorite challenges for years.  Sketch Saturday is my go to sketch challenge for creating my work groups birthday cards to keep them unique and special. My style has been describes as a simple, elegant style and I am always experimenting with special folds and various techniques, I also enjoy  Copics  and other coloring methods.  I feel these skills and my motivation to learn and experiment would make me a valuable member of your team.

Happy Anniversary

Happy Anniversary to my mom and dad! I designed this card using Gina K's a Year of Flowers, one of my go to sets and  followed the current Sketch Saturday.  Papers from Amuse.  Copics: V01, V12, B000, B12, B14, G 12, G24, G82, Y000,Y15, Y17 and of course pearls on my butterfly made with my Martha Stewart punch as my mom likes pearls!   I debated ribbon or other embellishments but decided CAS was enough for this card.

Cup of Sunshine

This cute digi Cup of Sunshine  from Meljen Designs makes a nice card that can be used for a thank you, birthday or any occasion needed.  I started with a normal A2 card, scored at  4 1/4" and then again at 2 1/8" and formed a mountain fold. Decorate with pattern papers and cut a thin strip of white with an edge punch for interest on the left edge.  Cut out image with die cut of choice, and cut a size larger out of two sided patterned paper.  Assemble as shown. I colored the image with Copic markers.  This would be cute done in Christmas colors too!  A few fun challenges:

Seasons Greetings

Just a few versions of my main Christmas card this year. Much cleaner and simpler than usual as I wanted to be able to work on it in my recliner while recouping from my foot surgery, doing great, back to work next Monday!  I won this Die Versions lovely seasons greetings die cut on a blog hop on Cherish Each Precious Day blog. I used a variety of shimmery papers and a few snowflakes with some bling but this die did not really need much embellishing. I've also seen this on patterned paper, and with poinsettia's below the greeting.
The bottom card is inlaid.  You cut the die out of your card front, save the pieces but set aside the greeting to use another time.  Cut the greeting out of another color cardstock.  Cover a piece of cardstock with adhesive and place on the back of your card front.  Place the new saying on the card front and fill in the spaces with the pieces matching the color of your card front. This makes a lovely card and I want to try this with other dies besides words. !  Thanks Patti for showing me this technique.
Take care all!

Fun Fold

I made this card last month for Bosses Day and the spare was sent to a friend so she would have the pattern.  We spotted a similar card in a little shop browsing after lunch and thought it was cute.  It's always fun to try a new fold or technique.  Sorry I have not posted for awhile and thanks to those that checked on me.  I had minor foot surgery last Monday so am spending my time in the recliner, having major craft room withdrawal.  I did get my Christmas cards cut and stamped before so I can put those together in my recliner, and I am catching up on reading, and blog visiting on my Kindle. I'll try to get another post up in about a week. Take care all!

Autumn

My first time playing with gelato's was at my friend Shirley's, so much fun! I
brought my leaves home (and the white rim left from cutting the leaf out) and she
sent me with this cute patterned paper.  The top  card is going to a friend who brought
her mom home on hospice and the other to my "chemo buddy" as her weekly
card. The fall colors are very bright and cheery here in St. Louis, MO ,
we took a drive last weekend out to wine country in Augusta, MO to enjoy
the view.  Have a good week all!
