The House That Stamps Built: New Years

It's Wednesday so time for another challenge at The House That Stamps Built!

Our theme this week is New Years.

I went with a simple design using a gold dotted pattern paper,
I embossed Happy New Year in gold, and framed it in a gold
die cut.  I added a few extra gold dots.  Very simple but
fun and fitting for the theme.

Join the fun and you might be the lucky winner of the monthly drawing

The House That Stamps Built: Christmas, Option of favorite technique

It's Wednesday so time for another challenge at The House That Stamps Built!
Our theme is Christmas with the option of your favorite technique.

Those of you that visit regularly know that I enjoy fun fold cards,
so I knew right away that I would go with that for today.  Every
Christmas I make a few cards with Penguin Tree. It makes such
a fun cheery card.  I cut the image and the green border on my
Scan'N'Cut.  Colored with Copics and glitter glue on the hats.

The House That Stamps Built: Christmas with option of Sentiment as the focal point

It's Wednesday so time for another challenge at The House That Stamps Built!
Our theme is Christmas with the option of words as the focal point.

I started with Wendy's NOEL and embosses it in silver, I then
die cut layers  of paper I had in my stash from a magazine with
layers of silver.  I then die cut a poinsettia with a die from
Sizziz to finish off my card.

embossing it with a snowflake embossing folder.  I distressed the edges with ink.
I then stamped  Repeat Impressions: Snow Skating ,  die cut it and colored it with Copics,
and then stamped Let It Snow, distress it with ink after die cutting.

The House That Stamps Built: Christmas: Option-Nontraditional Colors

It's time for another Wednesday challenge at The House That Stamps Built.

I went with the option: Christmas with nontraditional colors, using pink and silver. I
masked and embossed Pointsettia three times in silver on pink card stock.  I then
blended ink over the edges for some depth and stamped  Merry Christmas in the
same shade of pink.   A few gems and a splattering of silver (which does not show up
as well as in real life) and  a layer of silver card stock completed this card.

The House That Stamps Built: Use a border on your project

Happy Wednesday!  This week  The House That Stamps Built is looking
for cards with a border.

My card:

I am in the mode of starting of building up my Christmas card stash so I
wanted to go with Christmas. I used a die cut as my border.  The center
is blended with Distress Oxide faded jeans, has white splatters and
dots form a gel pen for snow.  I added some die cut and punched
snowflakes and die cut trees and a Noel stamp.

How are your Christmas cards coming or have you started? I am moving
 along on mine.

The House That Stamps Built: Use up your fall scraps

Wednesday, time for another challenge at The House That Stamps Built. This week
we are using up our fall scraps.

My scraps:

 My card:

I used a cute Cuttlebug embossing folder that I have had forever on a
scrap of card stock, trimmed it in two pieces to layer a scrap of fall
patterned paper between the pieces.   I then stamped Repeat Impressions:
Prize Pumpkin and Just Because on a scrap of orange card stock. The pumpkin
was a bit orangier than I liked so I colored it with Copics.

The House That Stamps Built: Thankful for Fall

It's Wednesday, you know what that means, challenge day at The House.
This weeks challenge is Thankful for Fall (Autumn colors, Fall, Thanksgiving,
Thanks)  My card:

Fall is such a lovely season and there is so much to be thankful
for this time of year: leaves changing colors, cooler weather,
getting out to parks to hike and always family and friends. I
thought this Repeat Impressions sentiment: Find beauty was
a perfect sentiment for this.  As most of you know, I am on
a stenciling kick so I stenciled some fall leaves from
in various colors, then without removing
the stencil, I placed a dotted stencil on top of it,
and stenciled over the two stencils together.  Isn't this a great look!

Other supplies used:
Stamplorations stencil:leaf prints
Tim Holtz stencil: dotfade

The House That Stamps Built: Pick of the Week

This is my second post today, please scroll up to see my Jan' Digi Designs post.

My turn to share my choice of Pick of the Week at The House and I am continuing
with my stenciling series.

First choose a stencil and stencil as you normally would:

Next shift it down and slightly to the right:

Stencil with a slightly lighter color.

Complete card as desired.  I did add a shimmer spray before removing
my stencil and stamping and embossing right on the card with
Repeat Impressions:Happy moments.

If you look close you will notice the shifting of the stencil and
using a lighter color adds dimension to your image

The House That Stamps Built: Funny or Snarky

It's time for another Wednesday challenge at The House That Stamps Built. This
weeks theme is funny or snarky.

I do not normally do funny or snarky cards, this is about as close as
I get:

I had bought a new pad of fun paper by Honey Bee and thought this
sheet made a perfect background for Repeat Impressions: Wine for Two
and 9511-H, Chocolate Alone gold embossed on vellum and layered on
the patterned paper.  A couple brads to match my card stock, isn't
it pretty!

The House That Stamps Built: Feature a Creature

This is my second post for today, please scroll down for my first post.

It's Wednesday, time for another challenge at Repeat Impressions, this week
we would like to see a creature on your card, scrap book page, journal
page etc.

I've not inked this sweet dog up for a bit and thought he would be good for
this week and for a special need.  I used Repeat Impressions Golden Retriever
(isn't he cute) and two of the squares from Pets Quartet.  The dog is
stamped on the inside.  This card was a bit of a challenge, but accomplished
the idea I had in my mind.
