JDS-Easter Jonquils

It is mid-month at Jan's Digital Stamp Challenge!  This month has flown by.

I started by coloring Easter Jonquils with Copic Markers and cutting it out on my
Scan n Cut, stamping one of the greetings from the set: Easter
Blessing on Vellum.  Next I stenciled Catherine Pooler's Loop Braid
stencil, then I put Tim Holtz's Dot Fade stencil directly on top of it and
stenciled with a slightly darker ink.  The look you get using two stencils
is such a wow factor.  You can go soft like I did or more vivid,
depending on your image and the look you want to achieve.

You can join the Anything Goes challenge, see the 3 new releases and what
my talented teammates have made at Jan's Digital Stamp Shop and Challenge.

The House That Stamps Built: Presentation of the Week

It is my week for Pick of the Week at The House That Stamps Built.
I am going to explain how to do double embossing for a fun textured look.

You will need two embossing folders, one with a mild pattern and one
with a bolder pattern.  An A2 card base, a 4 " by 5 1/4 " layer for embossing.
Other layers and stamps as desired.

Emboss milder pattern, I used Sizziz Tim Holtz wood grain.

Emboss bolder pattern, I used The Paper Studio,.

Enlarged so you can see the texture you get with two
embossing folders.

I then did some ink distressing, and used a Tim Holtz distresser on the edges.
I used Repeat Impression stamps: Cape Hatteras Light, Birthday Vertical,
Whelk Shell, and Random Dots.

Be sure to check out The House That Stamps Built blog
for a discount on the stamps that I used.

The House That Stamps Built: Designer Choice Challenge

Welcome to the first challenge of the year for The House That Stamps
Built!  It is a DCC-Designer Choice Challenge hosted by Shirley-
something that reminds you of your childhood.

I had quite a collection of stuffed animals and that Wendy's darling
teddy bears were my first thought.  Although I used pink and
added a bow I was not a frilly little girl. I liked playing
dolls with the girls but I also played with the boys
since my brother is just a year older than me.

Wishing you much joy in 2020!

Supplies:
Repeat Impression Stamps:
Tim Holtz lace stencil
Sizziz Framelits
Copics
Ribbon from my stash

Join the first challenge of 2020, you might just be the

certificate. Each entry gets a chance, two if you use a

The House That Stamps Built: Inspiration Photo

Another beautiful Inspiration Photo to inspire you at The House
That Stamps Built this week:

No photo description available.

I went with the pine cone and greenery as my inspiration.  I had yet to ink up
812-G, Pine Cone so I went right to that stamp, stamped
then cut with my Scan & Cut and thought it paired well with
2708-M, Pine Branch -which I colored with Tim Holtz Distress Markers before
stamping.  Added my sentiment: 2212-I, May you know and
some die cut greenery (Tim Holtz).

I hope you will share your creations in our weekly challenge, you might just be the
lucky winner of the monthly drawing for the $25 Repeat Impression's gift
certificate. Each entry gets a chance, two if you use a

Inspiration Photo week at The House,  Wendy does an amazing job at picking
the photos, making it easy to create on this week!

I started by blending my background with Distress Oxides: Broken China,
Mermaid Lagoon, Blueprint Sketch and Faded Jeans. I then stamped
5704-L, Bamboo with Distress Oxide Peeled paint.  Next I
and colored with Copic markers, fussy cut and attached to my card.  I then
die cut some flowers from a scrap of pre-colored paper from my stash
with Tim Holtz flowers.  Looks pretty much like the photo!
