The House That Stamps Built: Anything Goes

Final challenge of July at The House That Stamps Built, and that means:
Anything Goes!

I decided to wrap the month up with one more Christmas card
for my stash using the darling Repeat Impressions: Shepherd Boy.

As the picture shows, I blended distress oxide broken china and
faded blue jeans, leaving it lighter in the middle and then
spritzed with water.  My image is colored with Copics and
then fussy cut.  The star is punched out of a scrap of silver.

Just a tip, I bought the highly talked about Bearly Art glue, be sure
if you have any on your fingers that you do not touch your distressed
background as it will lift the distressed area right off the paper. That
is the one dark area in my otherwise light area in the center where I
doctored it up.  It does glue well.

You can enter any card in our challenge this week for
a chance to win the the monthly drawing for the
$25 Repeat Impression's  gift certificate. You don't have to use
Repeat Impression stamps but an extra chance if you do.
Drawing is the first Wednesday every month.

Butterfly card

I had some free time today so made this fun butterfly card. I want a gatefold so started
with that and some ancient paper that had an alcohol ink look to it.  I used some new
Gina Marie dies and cut two each of the frame and butterfly and glued them
together. I brushed some Mermaid Lagoon distress oxide ink on the butterfly
for interest and added gems to the butterfly and card.

The House That Stamps Built: Patterned Paper

The theme this week is patterned paper at:  The House That Stamps Built:

I have a favorite pad of Christmas paper with just scraps left so I pulled it out.
I stamped Repeat Impressions Christmas Teddy and then paper pieced him with scraps.
The top patterned piece is 4 scraps glued to card stock and then die cut.  The blue
dotted piece was just big enough to die cut.  A bit of stenciling as the white was a
bit dull, another Tim Holtz stencil.

So dig out some of that patterned paper and

The House That Stamps Built: Stencilling

Time for some stenciling fun this week at The House That Stamps Built:

I decided on a theme of Christmas cards for the month of July for
my Repeat Impressions posts to start my stash.  I inked this fun Tim Holtz stencil
up with deep red ink and then covered it with Dreamweaver Pearlescent embossing
paste, I like the shimmery look it created.  I them stamped Repeat Impressions:
NOELand Tiny Pontsettia on shimmery card stock with a glittery red
embossing powder.

Pick of the Week for The House That Stamps Built

My turn to share a project at The House That Stamps Built. I am sharing how to make
3 quick and easy cards.

You start out with 3 complimentary pieces of card stock. You can either die
cut these or cut them to size.  I went with rectangle die cuts, and I cut
one set to show you in case you do not have a die cut in the approximate
size.  To cut by hand you will want to cut  to 1 5/8" by 3 5/8":

Glue on 3 cards varying the arrangement, layer if desired:

Stamp image of your choice and layer on card and embellish as desired:

This one was cut without a die:

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial, these were fun, quick and easy to make!

Belated Fathers Day Post, Jack

This is a late post of my oldest son's Fathers Day card as it was a sad day,
their darling dog Jack,  was being put to sleep the next day, so we delayed
celebrating for a week, we did visit and give our grand dog some loving, isn't he
darling! He will be missed and remembered by many.

The background of the card is the artwork of their daughter, her first stamping
and then the addition of her coloring.  I added a die cut and Fathers Day
sentiment.
