October is breast cancer awareness month so I wanted to make a card

for this important case.  We all have been touched in some way by

cancer.  I've had friends and relatives go through breast cancer and

I am a card angel for Chemo Angels.  For crafters, sending cards

 to support those you know going through cancer or to an organization

is one   way to make a difference and add cheer to a difficult day.

I wanted to make another purple card to support the Hop to Stop

an awesome blog hop that is going on until October 14th to

support the end to Domestic violence.

 

 

You see, purple is the color of National Domestic Violence Awareness month. 

1 in 3 women will experience domestic violence over the course of their lifetimes. 

Let that sink in - 33% of all the women you meet. You can visit the  National

Resource Center on Domestic Violence for more information.

 

Feel free to join in the Hop to Stop, lots of fabulous prizes are being offered,

and most of all support anyone you know who may be a victim.

File Folder Cards

 

I got an envelope maker board and have made a couple of  file folder

cards with it after watching a few videos.  The top card was for a

friends who moved into a new apartment. 

I used some pattern paper from MME and just a

simple stamp from Katie & Co that has been in my collection for

eons.  The second card is for my brothers birthday, he is an avid

photographer,  I was inspired by a pin from this site:polkadotsandpaper.net .

Octobers House of Cards Challenge is: 

Add texture &/or Color Challenge

As you can see from my card above and the close-up below I went with the color scheme.  I used Morning Sunshine from A Random Fan and colored her with Copics and embellished with papers from DCWV the Café Mediterranean.  I used Quick Cutz Antique Doily, Spell Binders Deckled Rectangles, and Amuse grass die cuts, and the bow is from a row of white netting that I colored with green die ink and spritzed with Gold Splash Golddust.
