Fluttering by with birthday wishes

This is the first time I used the same image for my monthly work birthday cards but I think they are enough different that it is okay.  It sure goes faster when you make multiples.  I stamped this Northwoods image in green and then just the butterfly section in black.  I colored the butterflies with Copics, fussy cut, then embossed with holographic embossing powder and then pop dotted it to my image.  As you can tell I used a different die cut set for each card and cut a doily for two of them as they need just a bit more.

Be sure to stop by the next five days here and at MHKDesigns for new releases (and a chance to win them) and have a wonderful weekend!

MHK Designer Inspiration: Butterfly Wisdom

Hello,  it is my day to share some inspiration on the MHKDesign's blog today.

I am sharing  a card  made with  Butterfly Wisdom stamp set:

And the beautiful paper set: Stenciled Roses Digital Papers.

I made a Cascading Z- Fold card.

To make a regular Z fold card :
-Cut a piece of cardstock 12" by 5 1/2"
-Scor at 2" 4" 8" 10"
- Fold as shown with no trimming
-Decorate folds and inside with patterned paper

For a Cascading Z-fold card:
-Mark 2" down from the top on each end of the card stock, trim from this mark to the
second fold line which is 4" from the end.  See below:

-Decorate with designer paper as shown.

Hope you will try out this fun technique!

Springtime

This sweet little image "Spring Chicken" is from Deep Red.  I colored her with Copics and paper pieced with Double Dot Designs by BoBunny.  Die cuts used:  Spellbinders: Big scallop circles,Die-namics: Standard circles and Flourish. I wanted a cheery spring card to put in the mail to my chemo buddy today.  Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

April Challenge: Script/colors

It's time for another fun monthly challenge at House of Cards

This month challenge is...
Create a card with script and/or using this color inspiration:

I went with script:

I embossed this Rose Collage image which already had the script on it on two types of vellum, one with gold splotches on it and one plain piece of vellum.  I was not quite sure what I was going to do next.  Above is what I came up with.  The top card I mounted the image on white and tore and antiqued with gold and added some pattern paper and antiqued an embellishment I had sitting on my table.  I die cut the next piece of vellum along with a background layer, added a gold strip and used a new flower die I had just bought - Spellbinders Blooms three and then rubbed some gold ink on the background. The top card is going in the mail for an April anniversary and the bottom one will be for a co-worker birthday.

I hope you will join our challenge at House of Cards this month.
