Mug Bear

Isn't this Mug Bear from Gerda Steiner  Designs just adorable?  I've been meaning to join her progressive challenge for awhile and when I saw this image I could not resist.  You buy the first image for the challenge and then each month you get the image for the challenge free! I just love to color bears, my favorite part is  after coloring putting  Copic blender fluid on a small piece of burlap or  any textured material and pressing it to the bear, I have a close up so you can see the texture it adds to your image.

I used a new die cut I got at Hobby Lobby, it is a Momenta cutting template and I was also excited about the little pieces from the center, see below, I'm sure I can use those to embellish.

I've been following Jennifer McGuire's kindness challenge and as I was making this card I was trying to think of who I normally do not send cards to that likes purple as much as I do.  The list of people that like purple was long but I decided on my husband.  He makes the coffee on the weekends and usually get me a refill so I wrote him a little thank you/appreciate you not on the inside.  I think he will be surprised.

A few fun challenges:

Yay, Donna! So happy you joined Gerda's progressive challenge - I love her cute images, and this bear is so adorable! What a cool way to add texture for the bear's fur! I love his purple scarf! Your new cutting plate is beautiful! I know you won't let those cut-out pieces go to waste! I think your hubby will like this - and he will feel appreciated - you are very thoughtful!

Thanks for sharing your coloring tip for teddies, I've been wondering how it's possible to get that fluffy look, now I know!
What a fabulous new die, it gives so many possibilities, also with the negative cuts.
It's a really cute card, Donna!
