This week at The House That Stamps Built, Esther challenges us
to try a new technique. I have had Tim Holtz Distress Crayons
for at least a year so I pulled those out.
Stamps: Repeat Impressions: Flower Power Background, Because |
I stamped my Repeat Impressions: Flower Power Background, and embossed
it on watercolor paper. Then I scribbled the Distress Crayons on my mat
and picked my colors up with a watercolor brush. I did several layers
in areas for shading and contrasts and made sure to save one
of the 6 colors in the pack for my background. I added a Repeat
Impressions sentiment: Because.
I was having so much fun I wanted to use the crayons in
another way:
Stamps: Repeat Impressions: Flower Power Background, Thinking |
I stamped my Repeat Impressions: Flower Power Background again and
embossed it on watercolor paper. Then I scribbled the Distress Crayons
across the paper and brushed it with my watercolor pen. It was not
as smooth a look as I wanted so I scribbled the crayons on my
multi media matt and colored over the layers and got a much
smoother look. I then added Repeat Impressions: Thinking.
Thanks Esther for this fun challenge!

I have those crayons and don't use them - you've inspired me to get them out and play a little. Wonderful cards!
