Embossed anniversary

I saw a challenge for using embossing folders and have seen video's on
inking your embossing folder and then embossing your card stock and
thought I would try this.  Well, mine did not turn out like in the video's.
I ended up smooshing a piece of card stock and then embossing it.  I added
a stamped Happy Anniversary,  punched some hearts in the corners,
added some layers and this is what I came up with.

Okay, if you insist here are the tries of inking the embossing folders:

I may find a use for these but most likely not.  If you have any tips for
me feel free to share.

It's beautiful even if not the result you were trying for, I too tried the technique and all I ended doing was staining y EB folders, thank you for joining our NEW challenge at Can You Handle The Pressure!

Isnt' it funny how video's make it look so easy and when we try it it's a dismal failure. Me too on this technique. I just end up with a mess every where. I do like your smooched, embossed card here. It's lovely.

I often find my attempts at something from a video turn out quite differently too! However smooshing is one of my favorite looks and especially when embossed. Lovely card, thank you for sharing with us at Can You Handle the Pressure!

Hi, Donna! I love your card with ink smooshing and embossing, so pretty! I think I tried the technique once myself and failed so it was a bust for me too. As for your unused panels, maybe die-cut or punch shapes from them? Parts of them turned out okay so maybe trim those parts for future cards? I do love the embossing folder you used! Enjoy your weekend!

I didn't have good results with that technique either, but your anniversary card turned out lovely! Those tiny hearts in the corners make such a cute accent!

Brilliant smooshed & embossed anniversary card.

As to your other ink embossed bits - why not add a shim and run them back thru your machine to flatten the embossing a bit, then brush gesso or acrylic paint over the top? If flat enough you could then add a big background stamp on top - or lots of smaller stamps. After that you could use as ATC blanks, or like Kitty suggested, die cut for later use. Good luck xxx

Well I have been wanting to try this - but....glad you tried it first!!! LOL Love the smooshed ink background and what a nice anniversary card.

Well, I love the finished project! Beautiful card! I think you could salvage the first one, too! Perhaps a piece of vellum over to to mute it a bit, add a sentiment and pretty die cut? I really like them both!

Such a lovely anniversary card. I especially adore the wee hearts tucked in the corner (hearts are my all-time favourite shape).

Love your wonderful result- even if it is, as you say, not what you hoped for. It made a really great card!

I think these all turned out pretty Donna! I love that you've done that ink smooshing and embossing too! I don't think I've tried that one before, but pretty results! I think they have a nice watercolor look to them and make great backgrounds to stick a sentiment over for any occasion!
